An explore of the old Oldham Sports/Leisure Centre during its final days. We spent a lot of time here whilst it was open which made the visit all the more interesting. At the time of our visit, demolition had already begun but the majority of the building was still intact and accessible, sadly the building is now completely demolished.

    History
Construction of The Oldham Swimming Stadium began in 1972 to replace the Central Baths in Union Street. It was opened in May 1975 by MP Denis Howell, Minister of State for Sport and Recreation. Oldham Sports Centre was built next to the Oldham Swimming Stadium at a cost of £1.7 million, it was opened on April 19, 1985 by Sir Bobby Charlton. The main sports hall was badly damaged by fire in 1995, the refurbished sports hall reopened in April 1997 by Tony Blair. Oldham Sports Centre remained in use until its closure on 17th November 2015 when it was replaced by a new £15 million facility.
