    Ouvrage de Froideterre

I came along this randomly during my little Tour de France in September.
I passed by near Verdun, saw an info sign on a WW1 fort and decided to give it a visit.
In the area, known for heavy fighting in that first big war, there are more than only this fort,
Fort Douaumont, housing a museum, is just around the corner:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Douaumont

a huge anti war monument, + more along the streets and maybe in the woods.
Info signs do good work, but getting prepared in advance will bring more success, I think.
Interesting to visit if you are in the area.
I'm too lazy for a big history part, couldn't find any good in English, so use these via auto translate please:

The area around fort is prepared to be visited, the grilled doors were open, I don't know whether they always are; it looked astonishing undestroyed and not yet visited by „artists“.

Very interesting and well shot as always :thumb

As you say it's in amazing condition, considering it's more than a hundred years old.

That's pretty cool! It's surprising it's not been trashed too.
