    History
Grade II-listed Overstone Hall/House, on the outskirts of Northampton, has stood as a part ruin after it was largely gutted by a fire, which broke out on April 16, 2001. Overstone Hall was designed in 1860 for Lord and Lady Overstone by William Milford Teulon but it took so long to build that Lady Overstone died before it was completed.

For its time, Overstone Hall was highly advanced, built with double walls, giving it the earliest known cavity wall insulation. It also had a central heating system called Mr Price’s Apparatus, gas lighting and a butler’s lift.
In the early 20th century it was rented by a shipping magnate who entertained lavishly, the house passed through various owners until the mansion, with 70 acres, was sold in 1929 for conversion into a girls’ boarding school. In 1979 the school closed and a year later, it was bought by current vendors the New Testament Church of God for £100,000.

I had 2 hours free and found this on this forum thanks to The Lone Shadow :thumb so decided to go there. I went alone and managed to get inside. Half of the building is completely destroyed internally, only the outside walls remain. The other half is in serious decay. I managed to get up to the 1st floor from inside, but that seemed really unsafe. Really huge inside, so much that I got lost in the rooms briefly! I spent about 1 hour inside and went everywhere I could safely get to.

Good stuff, pretty much a ruin but looks like you got the best out of it, may need to add the location to the title ;)

Good stuff mate, nice to know I was the inspiration for an explore :D
Great shots! The place has just about had it though and it is only a matter of time before somebody gets killed falling through that 2nd floor.
I doubt very much I will be returning for a second explore here. Give it a couple of winters and these shots will be rare as parts of this building will be unreachable.

Seems a bit strange that a church would buy it and just leave it to rot. :mad

They are trying to sell it for £1million I think, there have been interested parties but the asking price was too high so I've heard?? And to be fair a million for what is basically a ruin and land seems quite high considering the cost to renovate.

Only about 6-ish weeks ago, and I know someone who has recently been and it is all still the same. It was thanks to The Lone Shadow I found this place so credit to him.
