Described as a Large inter-war public house on prominent corner site. The pub was built in 1935, by architects Hawkes McFarlane of Birmingham. The pub boasts an unusually shaped gable on corner which houses a clock tower and coat of arms. The pub was locally listed in 2001, but we all know that means bugger all...

The pub was literally WIDE open when I found it. Inside was very original, and although it had been ransacked, was generally not too bad. Inside still has beautiful period plasterwork, mosaic floors, fireplaces and ornate mock tudor windows, although most of those were on the floor in bits ffs :(

There was also a beautiful coloumn with a light which dripped art deco style.
