Built in the late 1960's and early 1970's these large offices were part of a purpose built factory, laboratory and head office suite built for Parke-Davis, an international manufacturer of household products such as toothpaste. They have now stood empty many years, Parke-Davis having vacated them by the early 1990's if I recall correctly. It is sad to see such large, modern facilities vacant and devoid of any purpose.

They are operated by Johnsey Estates I believe, a south-east Wales based commercial estates company, who maybe in these times have found it hard to match a new company with such specific amenities.

Spotted this on a drive past a couple of months ago. Found it to be absolutely trashed though. Bits of the roof covering litters the whole place. Went downhill tremendously quickly.

It's in good condition considering it's been derelict since the early 90's though

Was the 2012 calendar brought back from the future then?

Why would someone carry a 2012 calendar around with them and think to leave it in some abandoned chemical factory?

Very strange! Were the buildings not reused as offices since?

The police still use the grounds for training, including sniffer dog training. Very often as I drive past you can see the car park opposite the old gate house full of police vehicles.

Built in 1971. Empty since 1998. There was a planning application for 1200 houses in 2004.

It's been used for TV including at least 3 Dr Who episodes.

It also purports to have the longest corridor in the UK!

Did they bollocks! The calendar is in the gate house where security sat until 2012.

Parke Davis was not a "Bomb Factory", That's still located about 3 miles to the East. This site manufactured pharmaceutical and healthcare products such as contraceptive pills and Listerine mouthwash
