Partington Railway Station - Closed to public in 1965, but continued to operate for goods trains until the early 1980's, at which point it was torn down.

On the surface, the platform on the Liverpool bound side is still in existence, but the platform on the Stockport bound side has been totally obliterated.

There is a tunnel that used to connect the two platforms. The entrances have been backfilled by the local authorities, and the local chavs have excavated them. This is one of the few times I would like to say thank you to the chavs.

The entrance to the tunnel on the Liverpool bound side.

A view from just inside the entrance.

The chavs apparently use the tunnel as a den.

The blocked up entrance, on the Liverpool bound side.

The blocked up entrance from the surface.

Theres not a lot to see, really, its short, less than 10 meters long, all the locals know of it, apparently, however, here it is for your edification.

The photographs were all handheld, taken by a Sony Cybershot-P73 4.1Mpix and resized in Adobe Photoshop CS2.
