From the moment we first sighted the hospital we knew it was not going to be easy, the sight had been tightened pretty well from the boards covering all entry and the 11 ft fence surrounding the perimeter. Not only had it been tightened but secca vans were driving just outside the perimeter and secca on foot with dogs patrolling the inside perimeter. we made a decision that we needed a man on the inside to see what the score was....so over i went, i did a quick reccy and soon came across an entry point:D, i made a quick call to pom who informed me things with secca had got worse on the outside, just as he told me this... 1 man and his dog walked around the corner about 10ft away from me as im flat down in a bush:eek::turd. After about half hour of msgs from inside to the outside...the guys decided it was now or never so over they came and in we went. The size of this place makes it a great explore and there is still some great photogenic things and areas in there.

    HISTORY
Peterborough District Hospital was the acute general district hospital serving the city of Peterborough and north Cambridgeshire, areas of east Northamptonshire and Rutland. The War Memorial Hospital, which opened on Midland Road in 1928, was transferred to the National Health Service in 1948, the neo-Georgian Memorial Hospital (now the Memorial Wing) was later enlarged by the massive addition of Peterborough District Hospital, built in continuous phases between 1960 and 1968 and including, from 1970, Peterborough Maternity Unit. Located on Thorpe Road and West Town, it was decommissioned in 2010, with services transferring to the new Peterborough City Hospital.
