A second visit to this site, the first was about 2 years ago but I did not take a camera with me.
Tucked away at the edge of woodland high up on the beautiful South Downs this site would have afforded spectacular views of the worlds second nuclear war.
Thankfully the cold war warmed up a bit and this post was left to the elements.
On my first visit there was evidence that someone had camped out there for a while.
A burnt mattress, cigarette ends and empty beer cans were present. This time the empty beer cans were gone but the mattress was still there.
Nothing other than the cupboard and the wall mounted desk remains, the grill at the bottom of the ladder has rusted to nothing and there is no handle on the pump.
It puzzles me about the cupboard, it is too large to fit down the hatch so must have been assembled down there. Was this the first ever flatpack.?
The post is open, above ground it is overgrown with a small tree restricting the hatch opening. The air vent is visible in the undergrowth and the area around has some strange ramps and paths through the woods.
These I think were a diy cycle track ??? but now unused. Flimsy wooden ramps now rotting in the damp undergrowth.

    The view on approach.
There is a visitors "book" stuck with a magnet it the vent in the middle of the ceiling.
    The obligatory Roc pump shot.
The wooden ramps purpose unknown but I wouldn't ride my bike down there.
