This place has been done before I know, but heres another update anyway :)

Headed out on a day trip to Portavadie at the weekend with kingnothing41 (as per) to check this place out before the inevitable demo starts.

Bit of a drive to get there but the novelty ferry trip made it all worth while :) Also we somehow managed to get on the wrong ferry home which we soon realized once it had started moving and the guy came to check our tickets :crazy but thats another story...

    Anyway bit of info

This part was probably the most impressive, through that doorway took you through to what looked like the reception area and further round to the kitchens, bar etc everything just seemed to branch off from there

Met a couple of locals here one who's Dad was involved with the construction in the 70's apparently there has been al sorts of ideas for this place since the original plans fell through, from a Butlins to a retreat for musicians complete with recoding studios etc

Great atmosphere here and a pretty big site, With all buildings accesible and the roofs were easy to get onto for some nice shots. Would love a second visit to try and make/fight our way down through the trees to the seemingly less damaged buildings on the shore.

Check out the rest of my pics on my photobucket

It won't be demolished any time soon I don't think, I went in 2009 when demolition was "imminant", locals walking past laughed when asked about the demolition plans & said it wouldn't happen any time soon.

18 months later, it's still standing!
