    History:
Pool Park was built as a manor house between 1826-29 for the second Lord Bagot. The house was sold to the Tate family (of Tate & Lyle) as a family home. In 1937 the house was sold again to the North Wales Counties Mental Hospital who developed the property into a hospital to relieve the overcrowded Denbigh Asylum. The hospital had accommodation for 87 patients. The hospital closed in 1990, shortly before the closure of its parent hospital.

    The Visit:
Another day out, this time around the north of Wales. Visited with @David Hullton and a non member. Didn't venture too deep into this place as it is literally falling down in places, and it's full of bats.
I know it's been covered before, but couldn't find a very recent report.

Yeah it certainly is, amazed at its location too. Wouldn't think there was a hospital down that driveway.

I'll never forget closing a door at the back of the kitchens there and half the ceiling falling in behind me haha :)

I read the staircase had been removed? Or did I imagine that... No I didn't explore that deep! Shame really, was a bit of a rush job as the lads I went with wern't keen on things flying around. Will probably be returning eventually.

Yeah it's not easy to light that place up, just did what I could with a cheap eBay Cree torch and the flash!

It was still there a couple of months ago, removing it would be quite a mission I feel....

Returned at weekend and I'm so glad I did... Can't believe how little of this place I saw on the previous visit! Bumped into a pair of other explorers there too, and would like to take this opportunity to apologize again for that piece of ceiling falling onto your head!
