    This was a trial adit, dug about 1700 in search of iron. Situated in the cliff of a bay, it could be easily overlooked. Despite all the hard work there was no great deposit of iron, so it remains an example of wasted effort!


    A short branch tunnel, once inside

    Which went nowhere

    Main tunnel became smaller and rougher

    Ending after about 100 yards
