I haven't been able to find a lot about the background of the building or company, but here is an extract of an article from The Independent about it.

This article was published in 2004, so I can only guess that the actual company closed down in late 2004/early 2005. It was such a shame as well to notice that it had fallen prone to vandalism and other things. It was pretty much just a skeleton of the building it once was.

While in the building, I encountered 3 pikeys, all of whom didn't see me as I was hidden behind a wall :wanker . I just wanted to go out there and cut their thieving hands off, but they were well over my age so I stayed put. After they left, I came back out from my hiding spot and began snapping away again. When someone saw me through a window though, I shit myself and pretty much sprinted out of the building as I heard security guards coming through the loading bay doors. Let me just say, it's not easy climbing through a window :laugh . I purposely didn't bring my tripod though, as it was a 2 hour walk through the rain and snow and I already had enough weight in my bag as it was, so I apologise if a few of the photos are slightly blurred (probably from how shaky I was from the cold).

Well it was fine seeing this sign once we'd left the building wasn't it? .-.
