After taking a walk down by Ipswich Waterfront late January 2010 with HeavyMetalTerrier, we thought we would explore the old R&W Paul Ltd mill I know little about the factory’s history except I guess it was opened just after World War One (maybe 1930s?) until it closed in the late 1980s after production was moved to Bury St Edmunds. Seems that the factory may be demolished soon providing the land owner gets the right profit… :crazy
Had trouble with a crusade pigeons and their mess – along with the difficulty of not knowing what was around the corner – least the view from the top proved worthwhile.
Anyhow, since revisiting the site in February, the side door has been completely cemented in
    Here are my pictures...

Much of the machinery had been removed along with anything metal!

Lack of railings - stolen we guess

I remember hearing that a fire broke out in the mill not long ago...

    The famous bag slide

An amazing jungle of pipes and conveyors followed the stairs...

... Guess thats were they lead too :D

The main top floor was also stripped of almost anything -there was still one machine left rusting in the corner. The squares on the floor are basically a painful shortcut to the ground floor!

    Amazing views all-round...

Burtons - Err, pretty big drop

    Testing the skills of photography!

Much of the electrics still looked new!

There were smaller rooms on each floor

    And finally... Me and HeavyMetalTerrier
