This school closed down at the end of 2014. It's almost untouched; there's a couple of bits of vandalism here and there, but on the whole it's a fantastic explore.

Some parts were very emotive; seeing the kids' messages on whiteboards around the place, seeing their names and photos near the pegs where they hung their coats, and a few items of school work that were left behind.

The electricity is on, the water is on and the heating is on. It's like they all packed up and left a couple of hours ago.

The original core of this school building was constructed way back in 1837. It's been extended and altered a fair bit over the years to accommodate the increasing number of pupils attending.

The teachers and students left the place for the last time on 23rd December 2014 and in a big changeover ceremony, made their way on foot to their newly constructed, larger school about half a mile away- so this site has only been vacated a short time, about three months to be precise.

Some local kids have already been in and done a little bit of graffiti, but overall, as you can see it's in great shape.

Nice find with the milk, proper old-school. It got banned at my school because someone turned out to be allergic.

    Nice find, thanks.

However, it needs a name. I found it in two minutes. (RPS)

    Good find.

That room with the painted jungle mural on the walls looks rather nice :thumb

I chose to be discreet about the name. If you found it in two minutes, I'm sure anybody who really wants to will be able to do so too.

Exactly. Which makes hiding it a complete waste of time.

Another admin changed the name, for the record, just proving how easy it was to find really.

The locals and pikeys already know about it, that's certain.

In fact they laugh at us for hiding places. They told me, directly.

I know it isn't rocket science to find it, but I didn't want to hand it to them on a plate, I didn't want to be the one responsible if it gets torched.

You wont be responsible.. Its the responsibility of the owners to keep the building secure no one else. AND if it did get torched how would you know if was anything to do with you? It would probably be the local kids messing about, they will know about it already, they probably went to school there!

Been in this situation time and time again. 10+ years of experience have taught us many lessons and the rules of the forum are tailored around these lessons. One of the biggest rules is use real names or don't post.

I’m sure lots of us have had similar feelings…but what we have to remember is that someone else created the access. When they come back and torch the place, this is nothing to do with your explore or your report. You were just an opportunist who exploited their work. Remember this is what they broke in for in the first place!
