Decided to go for an explore with CarCarzy and Bill1991 in the evening. The place is easy find and access although there was a fair bit of CCTV. (Not sure if the majority even worked)

We managed to get into the building easily and were all a bit shocked at the size, it definitely seemed bigger on the inside then it looked from outside and previous reports do not really highlight its size.

Anyway the place has fallen into disrepair with roofs falling in and mold growing heavily up many of the walls although some rooms looked in great condition and it was clear that its contents had never been previously used.

One strange thing we found was that the majority of the lights still worked.

As we were leaving we noticed a group of about 7 lads heading in the direction of Silverlands, so we were not the only people out exploring.

    Comments and feedback welcome.

Everyone can appreciate some history from the Daily Mail

    · Silverlands was built as a large country house in 1849 by local brewer Robert Porter in Chertsey, Surrey

    · It was rebuilt by Vice-Admiral Sir Frederick Hotham in 1820 and became the Hotham family home

    · The Actors' Orphanage, backed by Noel Coward, moved to Silverlands in 1938 and remained for 20 years

    · The property was also used as a nursing school to train staff for a local hospital and nearby asylum

    · In 2002 plans to turn the abandoned property into a clinic for paedophile were blocked by the local community
