After an interesting recce of *another * location , I stopped off in Skipton for a resupply and my supper at Morrison’s

And while wandering across the car park – notice a big fook off steel grid – WTF – peers down – a culvert – hmm

Cue – das back to car – store shopping – and get laptop out – whoo hoo – several possibilities leap out – with more “ maybees “

I cannot be arsed with locations – but if start looking at the boundry between focus DIY and Morrison supermarket

No where special to be – so located a suitable parking spot – at the furthermost downstream point and kits up

15min of wading through quite nasty streamway – I am in a fooking RCP :

Ah well - - onwards and forwards – its worth it – just for the sign at the end

I wouldn’t like to see it flowing at 1.2m

I had barely 30cm – but it was very fast flowing – and WARNING the section under Morrison’s car park has sumps > 1m deep that are unmarked

Next – just 30m away – a concealed bridge hiding under modern reinforcement

Leading to a new car park apron and a weir before it ducks under the canal – to continue as streamway

Stepping out into the full view of nearby apartments – I soon ad an audience of slack jawed yokels staring out of their windows

Next thing I see – one of tem is starting art me while on his phone – time for a sharp exit and hid down another culvert

Mixtures of brick and dressed stone of various profiles

An interesting piece of hydrological engineering

Next more streamway – and boring tunnel lined with corrugated iron sheet

    But there was this :

A vent right next to the bus station – naff handheld pic – apologies

There were some nice riveted iron beams just upstream – but in a stoopy section with nowhere to set my bag down

Ending up in the centre of town – with a final comedy sign

[ I can honestly claim it didn’t apply to me – as I was traversing from downstream > upstream – so I read it as being a “ one way culvert “ ]

All in all a nice mooch – with potential for more
