Spiller's Tyne Mill was completed in 1938 and was then the tallest flour milling building in the world.
In Feb 2006, ADM (the current owners of the Spillers mill) announced they were to close the Newcastle mill and move production to other ADM Mills around the country. The Mill closed in May 2006.

Visted here with my son 'Mr J'. After wandering around outside for a while looking for an access point, we eventually got in, started wandering around, and after an hour and a half, we were only on the 3rd floor!

The scrap men appeared to have ravaged the place, although there is still plenty to see.

I think the highlight was navigating the wooden latted floors that the very top levels of the building have to offer.. and wondering if we would end up quite quicky on the floors below.

We then crossed the bridge at the top, and worked our way down the steel ladders after getting a couple of shots from the roof.

It was quite a good explore, although the the large holes in the floors, the latted upper levels, and the steel staircases that you can see through to about 4 floors down, made me quite nervous! (Guess I'm not the best with heights!).

Anyways enough rambling.. on with the pics (sorry about the amount!)
