    SSSI, Manchester - Feb 15

    Visited with.... Ojay, Paul Powers, Stopford Lad, Tom Sherman, Marsden, Nickindroy and Cyborg(i think that's everyone!)

    History

    SSSI has seen a steady flow of people over recent years, probably due to the amount that this place has changed. I you have a look through the archives you will find reports on how it used to look and reports during the recent upgrade carried out by Balfour Beatty. This was only a short one but plenty to see.

    The Visit

    As you decent down the ladders in the shaft you can turn right which leads to a large chamber with a penstock and some iron steps which take you up and over the penstock and down the other side.

    If you turn left it takes you down to the recent works which has been carried out with lots of concrete boxes and GRP lovelyness.

    I'm not going to bore you as there is plenty of reports on this one, so on with the photos;

    Excellent shots. They're all really good, but I love that one of the split tunnels.

    Always good to see this place!

    I'm pleased to see that they have finally filled in that exposed rebar structure that was covered in jamrags.
    The clock I left on the penstock looks to be in pretty poor condition. :)
