Got out and cracked this one with Bigjobs.

We all get those moments where we think sod it, we'll give it a go. We didn't think access was possible as apart from from the big blue hoarding around the base of the buildings it still looked like a fully operational hospital; lights, alarms, the odd member of staff from the live side; not to mention it had only been closed 3 weeks prior.

Luckily we found a way in and we spent a while just pinching ourselves that we were actually inside! Alarms were beeping, the lights were on everywhere and it felt as if the next corner we turned we would be facing a group of nurses.

We made several stops at; X-Ray, Ultrasound, Eye-Clinic, Record Stores, Operating Theater's, Recovery Rooms, Pharmacy and various other hospital attractions.

After seeing what must have been at least 7 operating theaters (All fully operational!) we thought there must be a morgue somewhere. We found the nearest Hospital-You Are-Here-Map and you couldn't have guessed it; X Marks the spot on the Mortuary! Unfortunately when we got around to see it, it was properly secure. There were signs on the door stating 'This building has been decommissioned please do not use'. For a mortuary it was a fairly good sized building with what looked like a chapel of rest. We came across a couple of paper articles which leads us to believe that the Police also used the mortuary for suspcious deaths.

It was finally demo'd back in June this year, to be used as a carpark for the new hospital.

    On with the pics!
