This place already has multiple reports up on here including a video report but I thought that I'd include my own, just to get some reports out.

    Description
This 40m timber lattice sculpture was designed in the image of the Olympic Torch and is lit up at night with over 600 LED's to 'produce a range of dramatic effects set to dazzle...visible for miles'. Built in a new development in Stratford, East London called Strand East, it's only use appears to be as a 'visible marker for the area' for Ikea's 26 acre property development.
Following the completion of works, Strand East Tower won the Special Projects Award at the Lighting Design Awards 2013, the biggest and most prestigious architectural lighting competition in the world.

    The Climb

Approaching the tower, even the meagre 40m seemed like a daunting challenge to climb. But what proved even harder was fitting through the tiny gaps in the timber lattice structure which involves contorting ones body into uncomfortable positions and forcing their way through. If I were any fatter I probably would've called it off and went on my way home but luckily I'm fairly slim. Once through, it was a simple and fun climb to the top to snap some photos.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend using a heavy tripod as a selfie stick. Especially not at night whilst clinging on to a metal frame for your life

    Success!

The nearby Stratford Riverside Apartments. You can read up on a report for it on my profile if you're interested.

And finally a bonus image - the first photo I took on my new lens. The bokeh is beautiful :thumb

Sick photos. Had a blast going there, though was scarier than I thought, at least getting into the ring balancing my way on that thin pole lol. Good shots mate!
