Good to explore an Asylum again after a bit of a lull in England! Stratheden is reasonably unmodernised inside other than a suspended ceiling here and there, and most of these are collapsing revealing the tall open skylights most of the larger rooms were built with.

Quite a bit of stuff left inside too, from sphygmomonometers, old bicycles and our favourite, a home made "weighing chair". I enjoying seeing the dated NHS carpets and sign-age that were once part of the staple diet of exploring.

The finest feature has to be the stunning curved glazed corridor, quite unique and virtually immaculate other than the token peeley paint. Add a splash of Minton tiles and fancy banister here and there and I was sold.

An all round thoroughly enjoyable explore!

Nice, just like the good old days of the NHS when they just locked the doors and left everything behind :thumb

I worked here for a few years, great to see inside parts of the hospital that are disused. The old ECT machines are safe and kept for educational purposes.
