HISTORY: Unfortunately I don't have any history to share on this location. All I know is that the buildings are abandoned forestry bunkhouses in Tairlaw, just outside of Straiton (Ayrshire, Scotland). If anyone knows anything about this location, I'd be grateful if you could fill me in!

OUR VISIT: What started off as a little trip to test a GoPro turned into quite an eventful mini-explore...

From what we can tell, there used to be at least four bunkhouses at this location in Tairlaw. It looks like two have burned down as only the outer brickwork remains. The two bunkhouses which are still standing are in pretty bad shape. The floor is VERY unsafe and I did fall through twice. I wasn't injured, but we did leave this first building as I wasn't willing to risk a third fall.

The flooring in the second building was a little more stable, but I still wouldn't recommend entering. There really isn't much left to see and it's certainly not worth risking injury. Rotting furniture, smashed plates and plenty of plants... We were forced to leave this building in a hurry due to disturbing a wasps nest. Fun times!

NOTE: Please ignore (and don't rip into) the GP-5 mask, its not something we always do! We wanted some photos of it for a photography and digital art project.
