After doing a quick recce (with my mum in tow!) before Christmas it appeared access was possible. I figured cover of dark was best so set off after midnight. After an amazing drive around the A64 ring road - no cars for 30 minutes - I unloaded the camera gear and snuck in.
There was only a smell of burnt cocoa in some parts of the building and some *very* sticky floors (even worse than Tuxedo Royale's dancefloor!) but no chocolate to be found. In fact very little evidence of anything that would give away what used to go on here. The main factory building is huge with long open floors which would have had rows of machinery.
Behind the the factory building are masses of warehouses for other production lines - a very big area but not a lot left to see.

It was a really windy night and even with a heavy tripod a lot of shots didn't come out too well. Here are some of the best.

The controlling clock. Can you guess what time I was here?

I've got pictures of the mechanism if anyone is really that interested ;)
