Haven't found out much about this place other than it was one of many yarn spinning and dyeing operations in the area. This particular one closed late 90's and being in prime Manchester commuter belt is destined for yet another apartment conversion. Last week I managed just one exterior pic before two pikeys appeared from an outbuilding stage right, one with a lump hammer and one with a length of metal pipe.

Favouring discretion over debate I left them to it and returned this morning at an hour when pikeys are sleeping off their cider or watching reruns of Trisha. Most floors inside were stripped and as usual all the wiring and fuses had been stolen. There was a little graffiti and a few flying rats but it was largely natural decay and thus a pleasant little explore.

Sadly the 'Permogloss' wasn't living up to the hype.

Obligatory chair, paperwork and selective colour shots...

It was surprising at times the amount of equipment left intact, including a reasonably complete loom on an upper floor, hefty compressor, Avery scales and unbroken glass in the ancient fire alarm triggers.

Was pressed for time so will be heading back soon to do a few unexplored areas and the outbuildings.
