This is an interesting one, The Apollo is located on High Street Crewe and was once I high profile establishment, sadly it declined in the 80's/90's eventually forcing it to shut in the early 00's about the same time as the brand new 5 screen Odeon opened about 1/2 mile away. The building consisted of 3 Cinema screens 2 of which were in use and the other had been converted into a Bingo hall, after the Odeon (then REEL Cinema) opened they closed the cinema screens completely and only offered bingo for a short while, then ironically Mecca Bingo moved in to the unit next to the Odeon and that was practically the ned for the Apollo.Following that it was purchased for use as a nightclub (named: The M Club). The club was open for a few years and shared the building with local radio station 'The Cat' who occupied the projection room of Screen 3, they moved out to bigger primacies in Nantwich, but the club stayed on trading for a little while longer before declaring bankruptcy. The Apollo was then locked up and has seen no other real presence, apart from the odd bit of vandalism on the outside. I've tried many times to gain access but after recent vandalism and a decision by Cheshire East Council to condemn the building means that no one may be able to get it while it is still there. :(

As for the screens 2 & 3 remain intact with their chairs still there Screen 1 was converted into a bingo hall and then a nightclub, the basement is still believed to be filled with casks (although I wouldn't recommend drinking them, when the M Club moved in the remaining sections of the cinema were just boarded over leaving all the paint and the fantastic staircase preserved as it would have been as a cinema.

Ahh, we did this in 2010/2011. I cant seem to find photos but there wasn't much to shout about. Downstairs it had been a club and in the circle there were two screens fairy intact but all very bland and boring. Dont remember any projectors. The whole place was full of someones stuff, looked like it had been in storage in there. Might be more derelict now? We posted rooks though one of the small windows on the street and she opened a door for us, i guess they are boarded now.

I walked past this today - seemingly unaware of it until now. It has a demolition notice posted on the entrance which was served last year - so it won't be around for much longer I fear. More history here: http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/38930

Yeah it was pretty lame by my standards, and I get excited by the smallest crumb of epic. I seem to remember Rooks getting excited about a spice girls lunch box!

Shame, It's one of those places I grew up around. Don't think there is any chance now the bulldozers are getting closer. :(

That should be the best time to go! There will be a hole in the side for you to walk through one day!

I've been down for a look today (finally got a day off work :thumb) Not much more to see, I ventured into the 'drug den' next to it but couldn't find any obvious points of entry ):. So as dweeb says I most likely need to wait until the dozers arrive. I've also found out that who the current owners are, after Sainsbury's sold up early last year.
