Im sure everyone is familiar with the history of this place so I will just give the basics.

Opened as an asylum to Welsh pauper lunatics in 1848.
Capacity was 1500 patients and 1000 staff.
Used new and innovative treatments such as electro-convulsive therapy and pre-frontal leucotomy.
Closed in 1995 following the 10 year closure strategy proposed by Enoch Powell.
