Today i met up with Jim Gillette for a quick slacklining session before i would do some more revision for my exams.

however it was quickly decided that draining would be a better alternative to revision, and an hour later we found ourselves infront of the outfall of the works, a gigantic overflow pipe.

The waders were put on, the river crossed and the hot and sunny day was soon left behind.

The first 300 meter are fairly feature less apart from the random stuff that somehow got into the drain such as a scooter, a football or a handbag.

After about 300 meter JG and me got to a junction, with one of the pipes being bricked off. It seems like this was only built incase an extension would ever be needed which could also explain the over engineered seize of the overflow for future use.

The branched pipe only goes on for a another 20 meter before reaching the "staircase" which is used for aering any sewage overflow so that the river does not get poisoned by it.

Up the stairs you get to the actual pipe.

2 hours later and the light and heat hit us as we walked back out into the river.
What a great way to finish a dull weekend!

As always more on my flickr
