    KIRKCALDY DISTRICT INFECTIOUS DISEASES HOSPITAL

Known locally as Thornton Fever Hospital, it was an isolated hospital which opened in 1902. It was used to treat patients suffering from Diphtheria, Scarlet fever, meningitis etc. The hospital closed & the former nurses quarters were used as a hotel under the name of Corsbie Hall Hotel, then a care home known as Fosterton Firs until the late 80s/early 90s
The ward blocks and main building were unused and fell into dilapidation.

The Explore....bit of a tourist hotspot now and becoming rather boring for most up here. the old place has become a bit of a dumping ground. Was rather gutted not to have bumbed into the "owl man" as i'd quite like to knock anyone's block off who tried that caper with me :)
