Report - BBC Tatsfield, Surrey - September 2014

Hi guys,

This is my first report, so be easy on me

I only live down the road from the BBC Tatsfield receiving station, and as i couldn't find any reports any more recent than 2010, I thought I'd go check it out.

For those that don't know about this place, its a BBC radio receiving and measuring station established in 1929, used to ensure the radio signals were running at the correct frequency.
Essentially a Radio quality control center.

It's pretty small place and rather run down. I had to battle my way through nettles and brambles to get to it.
There are essentially two buildings, one is partially underground.



This was the first building, the roof has partially collapsed.

This is the second partially underground building, It looks like there had been a fire there at some point.
We did find a little mouse friend though.

I think that this place was used for a bit more than just quality monitoring. When I were a lad, there were often announcements about such & such dodgy transmissions being picked up by them. Thanks for the report - never had any idea what it looked like or whether it was still in use.

That place has really gone to crap... Really love the mouse shot! Surprised it hasn't properly flooded in the underground parts, must've been built well or high up I suppose.
