HISTORY

Bethel quarry started some time in the 19th century. When work had finished it was used for the site of a mushroom farm. During WW11 the war department used it as storage. After the war it was used as a mushroom farm again till 2010

THE EXPLORE

I spent a good 90 minutes or so mooching around the quarry. Nice easy decent down the ladder; I found it a bit knackering going back up though lol. There's still a heck of a lot of crap down there from the raided cannabis factory. It was a nice little explore; I feel sure I didn't see all of it. I'd have stayed longer if I didn't have other things I wanted to do in Bradford-on-Avon. I enjoyed the fact it's quite a decent size. I kept thinking it would make a cool place for a game of Hide & Seek.

I'm planning to go back sometime with a mate and have a good long explore.

Thankfully not soaked, just a little bit moist lol. One good thing about the water coming down the shaft is, if you can hear the water dripping down you know you're near the exit

fair play mate 👍 I’ve done it 3 times and that ladder don’t get any easier going back up 🤣 last time we did it my mate had to stop half way up for a fag 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm glad I'm not the only one that found the ladder a killer 😆😆😆
