The grade 2 listed Deanwater Hotel was formerly Deanwater House, Built in 1837 but incorporating a much earlier 17th century building which currently houses the hotel reception and bar. The 19th century section was built by James Andrew to house the manager of the Dean Water calico printing mill, with cottages also being built for the workers nearby. The hotel closed in 2023.

This isn't the most interesting explore, its basically a bland hotel/wedding venue with most of the original features hidden by cheap hotel decor although there are a few interesting features visible like nice windows and beams. Looks like metal thieves have run rampant throughout the hotel. We struggled to find much to interest us so the shots are a bit unimaginative. The place is fairly extensive with a lot of rooms and a spa/pool area but overall very samey. One bizarre thing about the place is the fact that they have put down office style carpets in and around the swimming pool for some reason?

Not really one for hotel explores myself but I agree that this one has some lovely features within. The photos came out great!

Cheers, we're not really into hotel explores either tbh but it was pretty local so might as well have a look.

Thanks, yeah the pool is bizarre, can't figure out why you would carpet a pool?

Probably as a cheap way of creating a non-slip tiled grippy surface, cheaper to pick up a load of carpet tiles for £1 each than splash out on the sort of tiles you are supposed to use.

Possibly although they would be pretty minging after a while at the bottom of a pool!
Looks insanely open for somewhere which is pretty mint like that - nice one
Thanks, it is very much open, it looks like metal thieves have forced every door.
It's in quite an isolated little spot, although I did see a police car parked at the front entrance this weekend. Few weeks before a fire gets going?:hmm
There's a good chance, it isn't going to stay in a decent condition for long.
