Hi I have a manhole cover in my back garden and every time it rains my garden gets flooded been going on for months now been in contact with Scottish water and they have told me it’s a private drain can yo u tell me how I find out who it belongs to cheers

It'll be hydraulic flooding, it's quite common during heavy rainfall when dated systems can't cope. If it's the private drains on your land then maybe it's backing up from the local sewer as well ?, nothing to lose by giving yer local waste water utilities a call and see if they can send a network engineer round

If its blocked within your land boundary its down to you to sort it by private contractor
if its blocked or the fault is in the shared main on the road its down to utilities
