This was one thing I was determined to do while I was back in the UK. It's an absolute icon.
Ferrybridge for me meant holidays. Passing those towers by the side of the A1 meant we were soon going to be on the ferry to France and life was going to be good for a couple of weeks.
Visited with Dempsey and an errant sat nav that wanted us to park up on the side of the A1 instead of the road next to it then tried to take us dogging with a bemused farmer. At least the dildo wasn't mounted on the limo this week..
I'm sure by now you all know the history, so this is more of an progress update I guess.
Outside the plant, security are still extremely active, we probably saw them patrolling half a dozen times on the way in and 2-3 more leaving. I guess the team from the new plant have it as part of their remit.
Good news though is that once we were inside though we didn't see any sign of life. I was due at a wedding a few hours later and Demps is fond of having a job, so we couldn't take any chance of getting nicked.
A lot of scaffolding has been put up in the back areas around the boilers and there are stacks of it everywhere waiting to be erected on the turbine hall floor. I'd say if anyone wants to see it they had best be quick now. I can imagine that in a couple of months it will be looking very different. It looks like there isn't any night work now at least.
Cheers!
