History
Holding's Country Pottery was founded in 1842 by James Holding, but it was not originally located on Haslingden Old Road where it is now. The original pottery was built a short distance away in Gaulkthorn, another outlying area of Oswaldtwistle. In 1860 James Holding moved his business to Broadfield, then in 1900 his son Grimshaw Holding set up the pottery on the present site. From then on the pottery stayed put and the business passed down from father to son.

Having failed this place last march due to going the obvious way towards the place past the now converted barn (and the owner of said barn coming out) I had to give this place a second shot once i was in the area. It was the last week of May so I thought that it was okay to return to Urbex after the Admins message. I decided to approach from the back via the public right of way and it certainly was far more subtle. The place is small but has alot of history packed into it. Its alot more trashed than some of the 2010s reports on the place, but with how public the location is thats certainly no surprise. The fact this was was my first proper day out in months made this place even more enjoyable than it should of been.
