The 'Niphon Works' buildings are situated in Lower Villiers Street, Wolverhampton. They were erected around 1865 to house the factory of Robert Stroud & Company who produced steel, tin-plate and japanned wares, steel holloware and cabinet furniture. They were also occupied at some point, by the Dairy Accessories Company Ltd, who produced equipment for the catering industry. They are described as classic 19th century buildings with a four-storey frontage, and narrow workshops to the rear. The central building has a decorative central bay with an elaborate pediment and 'Niphon Works' in relief above the ground floor windows. The buildings are still there and are probably the most extensive range of Victorian factory buildings left in Wolverhampton, and considered to be a prominent landmark in the local area. They are also still in full use, but mainly as small units. Robert Stroud & Co. and the Dairy Accessories Company Ltd. have long gone.
