The jewel in the crown. This is where the highest ranking officers of the British Army would have worked, slept, dined, and of course held their formal balls. Hope you like them!

I know were not suppose to divulge access details but…ahem…the door’s open…

Bad fire damage

The old cinema, most of the seating has been stolen. I’m sure it was used for leisure as well as briefing films

Nothing can prepare you for the scale of the ballroom, it’s massive.

An old hose has been eerily fashioned into a noose

Me with a reefer, and a crack pipe

Sir, I think my office is really in need of a lick of paint

Changing / shower area, check out the luminous moss!

These weird light wells made most of the corridors fairly pleasant. I’m surprised the vandals have been so thorough to do every window

Upwood! Happy days. Kept meaning to go back and never did.

But thanks of the pictures, the place is looking extremely smashed up now. For comparison, here's some pictures I took back in 2002.

The Officers' Mess. (Type 'B', drawing number 2292/34)

The room to the left of the main entrance IIRC. I bet it doesn't look like this now.

One of the officer's rooms. Strange to see how undamaged it was then, as Upwood closed in 1997-8.

The ballroom in slightly more happier times.

And it's still got it's carpet.​
