Hey all
!
This is my first report so bare with me if it’s a bit poonanny ✌
Recent history - Royal Infirmary was merged with the nearby Orthopaedic Hopital and City General Hospital to form the University Hopital of North Staffordshire. In 2003 it was determined that under a £350,000,000 PFI development agreement the hospital would be rebuilt and relocated onto the City General site. Eventually in 2012 after several years of construction, the Royal Infirmary site was finally closed when all served had been relocated.
The explore - As advised previously by close explorers, we left my home at ungodly hours of the morning to ensure we had less chance of getting caught by security guards and 24/hr cameras. On our arrival I was pleased to see that this was much bigger than expected! Failing to jump the first wall due to the security hut being way to close, we continued to walk around the outside perimeter waying up our options. BOOM, there it was, remembering that cctv was everywhere we hurried to our first point of cover
There we were, stood in the main corridor. No inner alarms, no cctv. Just us and our cameras .. bliss ! I was glad to see that vandalism hadn’t hit this beautiful decaying hospital...Sadly, we were only able to access a small chunk of the Hopital without coming out again to find another way in. As it was beyond sunny outside we didn’t want to get caught from being greedy so happily proceeded to walk around to see what we could find. Coming out was a breeze but we were questioned by the security guard watching me worm under the final gate out. He proceeded to tell me that the cctv had caught me when I first popped my head under but he realised I wasn’t there to cause harm ✌.. or just to slow !
All in all, fantastic explore even if only a small chunk was accessed. Definitely planning another visit !
Anyway hope ya’ll enjoy the few pictures I managed to take Thanks !
