H H Wills Physics Building (University of Bristol) Rooftop, Bristol - September 2012

    Visited with a non-member.

After a long week, I felt a drive into town and a good rooftop was in order. Having just met someone who was also keen to get up high, I knew this would be a good one.

It's nearly a year since I turned my attention to what was happening with varuous uni buildings up on St Michael's Hill in Bristol, and I have been following the developments over the last year. The scaffolding on the H H Wills Physics building has only recently gone up and it looked too inviting to miss!
Bristol University has certainly delivered this year as far as getting high up around Bristol goes, with some excellent views.

Some information about the observatory on the roof.

A photo from November 2011 of the site for the new life sciences building which is due to be completed in 2014. The physics building can be seen in the background. This site used to be home to the Hospital for Sick Children before it relocated to it's new site down the hill in 2002.
