I met an Exited explorette who said she had found another mill while waiting for me to arrive. Sure enough she had and it was huge!! Once a cotton mill, it had been devided up into smaller companies, the largest making cake ornaments and boards. Lots of junk from the cake place inside, but the real treasure was the original fittings from the cotton mill. Many attempts had been made to cover up the stone floors or wooden roofs, but as usual these modern chipboard coverings do not fare well once the heating is off, and the mill is creeping back through.

One thing that always gets me is taht once the Cotton mill closes, it's machinery as sold, records destroyed, but silly things like chairs and workbenches which have no real value seem to hang on, and are still in the room where they have been used since the mill's cotton days.
