Very early morning explore in Stoke... No offence to the people I have promised a day of exploring with, this was spur of the moment before an afternoon at work. This beauty has been annoying me for a long time... It's just hard to get to in the car! Anyway, access was hard, but worth it. I was disappointed to find the iron door shut, with tires piled up against it. Lickly, the door will flex, and I could just squeeze past it and inside. It is very intact with all it's fittings in situ. All the ironwork is original and hand riveted together.
There are 49 bottle kilns left standing in the potteries... this is no 9 for me!
