Here's a lead courtesy of our fave newspaper...

Never used train station under Heathrow Terminal 5

"It may be one of the world's busiest airports, handling almost 80 million passengers each year, but Heathrow Airport has a secret many people don't know. Deep underneath the busy departure gates lies the deserted, and somewhat eerie, Terminal 5 train station. The station was built in 2008 to coincide with the launch of the London airport's newest terminal, yet has never been opened."

Cool, but I hate the daily mail more with every article...

    Stupid statements like:

"The station, that has purpose built platforms, was built back in 2008"

Purpose built? You mean like, for trains to stop at?

Exactly. Likewise since when has the London Bus been an unit of measurement? How many Landrover Defenders is it to the London Bus I wonder. So shall I now say that my son walks 56 London buses to school each morning or that I drive 134 Royal Navy Frigates to work each morning and Tescos is a whopping 256 hovercraft from my home!

I think they may be overselling the "station". This is just an additional concrete box that sits alongside the in use HEX and Piccadilly line station boxes.
