Report - Walsgrave Hospital, Coventry

    Built in 1969, Walsgrave hospital was the main hospital in Coventry. It was built to replace 3 smaller hospitals in the City. Bit of an odd one to explore, as I have visited relatives in there! Access was n ot the easiest, but in the end 'went for it'. Access to the building was easy, and we made our way to the roof. Good views of the new hospital and of Coventry. The building is a cross shape, giving north south east and west wings. South has already been demolished. The reception area was interesting, and still in the 60's style. The wards were much of a muchness, but some interesting features, including loaclly made lamps, and fantastic ceiling clocks...
    Real bonus stumbling across the original maps and plans of the building...
