Some of the slides at Wet N Wild travel outside of the complex

    Location
Royal Quays, North Shields, Tyne and Wear, England

    Owner
    Wet 'N' Wild Enterprises Ltd.

    Opened
    1993

    Closed
    2013

Wet N Wild was an indoor water park situated in North Shields, Tyne and Wear, England. Before Sandcastle Waterpark claimed the title, It was the United Kingdom's largest indoor water park when opened in 1993.[1] The park is situated in the Royal Quays complex, and features numerous slides, a wave machine, and rapids. Another slide was due to be installed early 2012 but ultimately the plans were dropped.

On 16 October 2013 it was announced that Wet 'N' Wild Enterprises, the owners, had entered administration on the 14th October, and thus the park was to close with immediate effect

So I noticed on here that wet N Wild had gone into administration a few months ago. So tonight I was at the fish quay having fish and chips and thought id detour on my way home to see if I could get in for a look around.
I think this would be an excellent place to explore.

I'm new to this and only done one explore a few weeks ago which was a success . I failed at this one, I couldn't find a way in for love nor money - so frustrating :banghead

So it looks like this place is unfortunately a no go for a good while yet

I remember going here a few years ago after eating space cakes with a group of makes. It made for an interesting day out...
Wouldn't mind checking this out if access is possible but looks like a pretty hot site for now. That slide on the far right is lethal, although i'd be up for giving it another go!

Fairy I hear it is going to open up again so security is extra tight, not saying it's impossible but don't beat yourself up about not been able to get in.

Went there a few times in the 90s, you could enjoy yourself in the pool/slides etc. then get out, have fish & chips and a pint and get back in without having to dry off! Worst slide was the 'Black Hole' (I think), sheer drop for about three floors in pitch blackness. Well worth going to when it reopens.

According to BBC Newcastle Wet n Wild re-opened today (4th August) under new management and with some internal modernisation including a new cafe (although the pool areas remain the same).
