The second of explore of a day of two. Done with Marsden1002 and Tom Sherman.

This visit was quite surreal for me, I remember visiting here around 10 years ago - walking around in the jousting arena was quite eery knowing I was in that spot 10 years ago during crowded show.

There's really not much left of this place and it's all dissapearing quickly. I also looked for the jousting props but couldn't find any. (would have bean a money shot!). Evading the workmen and guards onsite was fairly
easy, except for near the end where we decided to not give a shit on the way out, and got caught.

Not the best explore in the world with there being so little left but it's better than them just sitting on my computer. :p:

    Obligatory history for those interested.

The park opened in 1983 and was operating seasonally since then. The park is based on the story of 'Camelot, King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table'. The local area was once covered by the largest lake in England Martin Mere, which was first drained in 1692 by Thomas Fleetwood of Bank Hall in Bretherton. In 1986 it was taken over by The Granada Group and operated by them alongside its now defunct sister parks American Adventure and Granada Studios Tour. In June 1998 the park was subject to a management buyout in which the park went to Prime Resorts Ltd.

Camelot has seen a downturn in attendance in recent years. In 1995, Camelot's attendance was 500,000 visitors throughout the season. In 2005 Camelot's attendance was only 336,204 visitors.

This shot only came out this way because I was too scared to go any higher. I kind of like it though, now I look at it.

i went there about two months ago and there is an assess point from behind the hotel through the fence. A lot more has gone now but it's still a good explore. Especially if you went there while it was open
