I think most people know the history of this place. It was a power station in Willington (Derbyshire) until the final part closed in late 90's and was subsequently demolished. The only thing left standing now is the 5 cooling towers and the nearby sub station.

There isnt a huge amount to see around this site but it is worth a Sunday afternoon mooch if your in the area as there are a few interesting bits and pieces lieing around.

Anyway, on to the pics. I wasnt in the area long as it was a late afternoon decision and the light was fading by the end. Also couldn't resist taking the last pic of the graffiti, as it was my initials lol

I kinda liked the post processing, nice to see different styles in people's work. Love this place as a bit of a chill out as it is largely uneventful. Usually one of my backup plans when i am in the area.

Unless North Korea has launched a nuclear strike against Derby (and lets be fair no one would notice) I'm pretty sure it doesn't look like this.

I wondered why they demolished the power station but left the towers?

In my opinion, the post edits weren't excessive, and enhanced the very nice photos. Well done.

In the mid-1990s a pair of peregrine falcons nested in one of the cooling towers, as it's a protected species they can't knock down the towers

Are these things still standing? I thought they were supposed to have come down last year already.

I was rather hoping that, with a name like Decender, that you might have abseiled down one.
