Many thanks to Northern Ninja and Els for the invitation!

Berkyn Manor was originally owned by John Berkyn, though following his death in 1458, he house has had several owners most notably the English poet John Milton who lived here with his father in the 1630s and 40s.

The manor was rebuilt by Edward Tyrell; the Remembrancer of the city of London in 1848.

Earnest Rayner was the last owner from 1945 up to his death in 1987 aged 96.

The security was interesting to say the least!

I gotta say in nearly 4 years urbex, this has to be very near the top. Its a truly epic place, such a time warp. Places like this kick start that bubbly urbex feeling in the stomach, just amazing, and emotional at the same time when you think of peoples lives. Excuse the fucked tripod shots!
