I visited this church in the summer, it is reckoned to be a 14th century building dedicated to All Saints. The one bell dates to 1594 while church registers start in 1538.

While the site is really over grown with trees - in one corner - the are signs of a badger sett with three entrances tunnelled under tombs of early Victorian vintage.

Inside the church is a musty gutted shell. Floor boards are rotten, the pews have been ripped out, the rear wall is badly cracked and sunlight streams in through this crack in the corner. There is no stained glass and only two interior monuments - one monument is dated 1591 and 1593. The pulpit remains, plus one stool and a kneeler.

The roof is sound but it is a crying shame to see a 14th century building reduced to this derelict state with a dusty British Legion wreath dumped where the altar used to be and a 'To The Sale' sign dumped in the porch - the last is a relic of church jumble sales or a prediction for this church's uncertain and deteriorating future?

The light above the stool was not 'light painting'...!!!

    Tres Enjoy....
