Report - Bletchley Park G-Block -- July 2010

    Information on the visit:

    Im a volunteer at the park, and therefore have access to some areas that the general public don't. Whilst this wasn't a strictly 'permission' visit as the building is now owned by the developers public access isnt easily available and is strongly discouraged.

    History of the building:

    The building was built during the war and used as part of the decoding efforts. After the war it remained in the hands of GCHQ for a number of years before being sold to BT who were the last owners. The building is now in a state of disrepair and has been sold to developers without a Listing on it. A debate is currently on-going as to weather the listing for the adjoining building (D-Block) counts for this one too, the developers however seem to be ignoring this (as always).
