Been living in Buxton for almost two years, and only just explored the culvert that River Wye runs through under the town.

Started at the Pavillion Gardens, followed the river under the Springs Shopping Centre, and then under the road to emerge near the Wetherspoons.

I was supprised to find a huge number of spiders living within the culvert on the walls and roof. This, to me, suggest the culvert rarely floods completely, so is reletively safe to explore.

I explored the culvert with a long stick to check the depth of water in front of me, as at a few points the depth changes quite sudenlly.

I realised about half way in that I had left my phone in my pocket! Luckily, it is only a cheap brick phone, so it still works :)
