The building is stunning, inside completly trashed though. Original features still remain and it was nice to find tiles and wallpaper from a long time ago behind fireplaces, etc. Upstairs there is not much to see, most of the rooms are stripped out and the fireplaces sadly gone. You can imagine how grand the main entrance and stairs were back in the day when it was a manor house.

Re: Chapel Allerton Hospital, Leeds, Report 26/01/08

A little worse for wear after the night before (that would be me, the other two seemed fine), we visited all that remains of the old Chapel Allerton hospital and I couldn't believe how trashed it was. It was mainly natural damage, so it would seem with water damage being a bit of a problem. It seems almost a crime to let a building like this just rot, with much of the plasterwork falling away and now lies on the floor.

Despite it's small size and being rather stripped, I quite liked the place with a few interesting features remaining, despite the damage.

Yet again, the NHS manage to fluff it up and have left a load of patient records in the basement. I was sat there for a while having a read. Dickheads like me shouldn't have access to stuff like that.

    I've editted out names.
